Head Coach
Jorge Bohabot

Jorge Bohabot brings more than fifteen years of coaching experience to Northern Virginia Aquatic Club and has worked with swimmers across every stage of development, from early age-group athletes to national-level competitors. Known for his technical precision and thoughtful training progression, Jorge has built a reputation for helping athletes reach their potential through disciplined preparation and long-term development. Prior to founding NVAC, Jorge served as the lead coach of the National Training Group at Occoquan Swimming, where he guided swimmers through the highest levels of age-group and senior competition. Under his leadership, athletes have achieved numerous VHSL state championships, Zone championship titles, and national-level qualifying standards including the USA Swimming Open. His swimmers have also earned podium finishes and finalist placements at major competitions such as ISCA and NCSA championships, as well as Sectional meets. Many of the athletes Jorge has coached have progressed through the national age-group system to compete successfully at the collegiate level, where they have become conference finalists and conference champions. Jorge’s coaching philosophy centers on strong technical foundations, structured training progression, and helping athletes take ownership of their process. He believes swimming provides a powerful framework for developing resilience, confidence, and discipline that extend far beyond competition. As Head Coach of NVAC, Jorge oversees the club’s athlete development model, training structure, and coaching standards across all training locations, working closely with swimmers to help them pursue their highest potential in the sport.

Dalton Regenbogen Co-Founder
WARF Lead Site Coach
Dalton Regenbogen

Dalton Regenbogen brings a lifetime connection to the sport and nearly a decade of club coaching experience to Northern Virginia Aquatic Club. As a competitive swimmer himself, and the son of a lifelong figure in aquatics who now serves as a senior advisor to the club, Dalton's roots in swimming run deep — shaping not only how he understands the sport, but how he understands the people who give their lives to it. Known for his empathetic approach and genuine investment in the athletes and families he works with, Dalton has built a reputation for developing the whole person, not just the swimmer. His coaching philosophy is centered on the belief that lasting athletic growth and lasting personal growth are inseparable — and that the relationships built in the water are as important as the results achieved in it. Over his coaching career, Dalton has guided swimmers to successful high school careers and meaningful collegiate opportunities, developing athletes to achieve placement into the highest levels of USA Swimming club training programs. As Head Coach of a local summer league program for more than nine seasons, he grew the team from the ground up to over 300 athletes, cultivating a unified team culture that extended well beyond the pool deck. He has also served as Head Coach for a local high school program, helping carry forward its tradition of excellence and continuing to build on the success established before him. As WARF Site Lead Coach and a founding partner of NVAC, Dalton brings that same commitment to community and individual development to every lane he oversees. He is passionate about creating an environment where swimmers feel supported, challenged, and seen — and where families trust that their athlete is in the hands of someone who genuinely cares about who they are becoming.

Don Regenbogen Senior Advisor
Senior Advisor | Coach
Don Regenbogen

Don Regenbogen brings more than fifty years of active coaching experience to Northern Virginia Aquatic Club — a career that spans the full spectrum of the sport, from first-time age-group swimmers to Olympic-level competitors. A lifelong figure in aquatics and a foundational influence on the club's vision from the very beginning, Don joins NVAC as a Senior Advisor, lending decades of hard-earned wisdom to the program. Don's connection to developing people extends well beyond the pool. For over twenty-five years, he served as an Elementary School Physical Education teacher in Northern Virginia, shaping the habits, confidence, and character of young people at the earliest stages of their development. That same dedication to the whole person has defined his approach to coaching throughout his career. As Head Coach of the QDD swim team for twenty-five years, Don built a program that reached the highest levels of USA Swimming competition. Among the athletes he guided was Jeff Rouse, who went on to become a decorated Olympic competitor earning multiple Olympic medals. His work with QDD demonstrated not only an ability to develop elite talent, but a sustained commitment to long-term athlete development that produces results on the national and international stage. His accomplishments on the high school deck are equally decorated. During his five seasons as Head Coach at Osbourn High School, Don earned the Coach of the Year award — a recognition that reflected both the success of his athletes and the respect he earned from everyone around him. Closer to home, Don has served as an active coach with Sudley Swim Club, a Northern Virginia summer league program, for more than thirty years — a testament to his enduring love for the sport and his deep roots in the local swimming community that NVAC is now proud to be part of. With over half a century in the sport, Don Regenbogen represents exactly the kind of foundation a new program aspires to be built upon. His presence within NVAC is a reminder that great coaching is developed over a lifetime — and that the values passed from coach to athlete, and from generation to generation, are what give a new club its soul from day one.
