Jorge Bohabot brings more than fifteen years of coaching experience to Northern Virginia Aquatic Club and has worked with swimmers across every stage of development, from early age-group athletes to national-level competitors. Known for his technical precision and thoughtful training progression, Jorge has built a reputation for helping athletes reach their potential through disciplined preparation and long-term development.
Prior to founding NVAC, Jorge served as the lead coach of the National Training Group at Occoquan Swimming, where he guided swimmers through the highest levels of age-group and senior competition. Under his leadership, athletes have achieved numerous VHSL state championships, Zone championship titles, and national-level qualifying standards including the USA Swimming Open. His swimmers have also earned podium finishes and finalist placements at major competitions such as ISCA and NCSA championships, as well as Sectional meets.
Many of the athletes Jorge has coached have progressed through the national age-group system to compete successfully at the collegiate level, where they have become conference finalists and conference champions.
Jorge’s coaching philosophy centers on strong technical foundations, structured training progression, and helping athletes take ownership of their process. He believes swimming provides a powerful framework for developing resilience, confidence, and discipline that extend far beyond competition.
As Head Coach of NVAC, Jorge oversees the club’s athlete development model, training structure, and coaching standards across all training locations, working closely with swimmers to help them pursue their highest potential in the sport.
